An amazing opportunity to do makeup @ EMG!

Although it has been just a call-in once off thing, I went all excited and freaked out at the same time when I had an opportunity to do makeup for the rising model Marnie Harris and not to mention alongside with an amazingly talented team: Photographer Sam Hendel and Emma Read that was put together by Simone from Emg!!! A whole week later i’m still not sure how to go about writing this blog post since the photographs have been out because I still lack a lot of experience in doing on the go jobs. I promise you though, I will only keep trying harder and harder!

Regardless, below are some of the images. Please remember that Sam Hendel has full photographic rights to these images!

Well, that’s it for now! I am so grateful and thankful for this opportunity. Perhaps someday I too can be fully legit in doing makeup for models and such? Only way to find out is to work harder and sprint on towards the goal! Enjoy life, and take care!

Photoshoot: De Rose of Día de los Muertos @ Cockatoo Island!!!

Wow. So many things have happened in the past 48 hours I just had NO TIME at all to blog! But i love blogging and even though there’s still a lot of work to be put behind the things i’m doing I’ll be sure to reveal to you all~ shoots, makeup, reviews and life adventures.

I hope you have all seen my De Rose of Día de los Muertos makeup tutorials in one of my previous blog posts because this is what it’s about. Today I headed over to Cockatoo Island with my crew to take some shots of a friend of mine who requested the look. It was a long hot and humid day. Yuck. And one of my flash guns weren’t working either so we had to make do… being frustrated, sweaty, annoyed, lost… but then most photoshoots are like that. HAHAHAHAH.

Anyway, meet my team of the day!

Image

So we’ve got my assistants Steve- videographer/cinematographer/health freak, Alan- graphic designer and Nona the model of the day. Fun times, good times, seriously tiring times.

Unfortunately i’ve only mustered enough energy to edit one photo. Here’s a sneak peak of one of the shots!

Black & Yellow Contrast crease cut makeup tutorial!

How are we all doing!? Hope all is well ❤ Last night I decided to attempt to do a crease cut look for the very first time. Lately I’ve been really loving bright colours with a bit of contrast over soft looks. I think this look was a little harder than usual. I have asian eyes and there’s a lot of looks that need to be adjusted since I have an EXTREMELY FLAT facial features + a really small round bubbly face. Here’s the close up shot of the eyelids.

Image Let’s get started!

Image

1. Starting off with a clean face, moisturise, prime and equate out imperfections with some color correcting. Apply your concealer and fav foundation!

2. Get your eyes ready with some eye primer~

3. Take a bright yellow and gently pad and build up the colour over your entire lid. Tip: You may find that if you mix 2 different yellows it will give you a more 3D look/ more intense colour)

4. Pat that yellow on your waterline and under-eye area too!

Image

5. Now take either a black pencil liner or a gel liner and mark out where your crease is. Create an elongated outer V so when you line your eyes it will connect into a lovely cat flick.

6. After marking it out, take a black shadow and build up the intensity of the black all the way up to the brows for that Egyptian kinda look. You may choose to do less and have the black fade out into the browbone for a more wearable look!

Image

7. Fill in your brows and line your eyes! Top off the eyeliner with a liquid liner for a more defined line.

8. Contour your face, apply falsies!

9. I finished off with a bright pink lip. And you’re done! ❤

Here’s the completed look while wearing my fav blonde wig xD!

Hope you guys enjoyed this look!

March of the Swallowtail Makeup

Hi everyone! Its a really pretty day today here in the southern parts of the world~ Hope you’re  all able to find something to be thankful about : )

Last night I had a sudden hunch to get up and do something to my face again. A friend of mine wanted me to do some dramatic makeup so I was just working over some concepts. I think i’ve settled down with the Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly. Beautiful blues across its wings and a slight silver sparkle and an occasional hint of bright yellow.

Unfortunately it was getting really late so I didnt’ get to take individual shots for the tutorial. But the steps are pretty much the same to my

DE ROSE OF DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS- DAY OF THE DEAD MAKEUP!

tutorial :P.

Here’s the look!

Cosmetics Haul!!!!

Probably not the most exciting thing for the readers but very exciting for me! Today I got my package from Keauty (online shop) and went and picked up some Tony Moly stuff- just thought I might try it out.

Here they are!

Image

Coloured hair extensions, ruby queen contact lenses, Lioele pore clean and tightening pack, lioele secret pore HD powder, and they gave me some cute freebies! aka- the tote bag and lens case!

The bag was so cute i kinda just had to do a separate photo of it.- from skin food

Image

Okay now for the Tony Moly stuff

Image

They were selling this massive lips makeup bag filled with the goodies below for $9.99 AUD! A load of samples and bottles of their whitening range, mask and all. Great buy for travelling! Then to the right are some multi purpose shimmer boxes. A bit expensive but i needed it for a shoot and the colours were what I was looking for. Can be used for contouring, blush, eyeshadows, highlighting. -Pretty good for on the go i guess 😀

Stay tuned for the reviews! I’m trying on the pore clean tightening pack as we speak and can feel my face tightening up already LOL!

Bold Candy Eye Liner~

Image

HellooO! Well, this is my look of the day! It’s a simple look for those who are feeling a bit quirky and a bit adventurous. Totally wearable (i think)… hahahah

Ben Nye- Lumiere Grande Colour Palette
Lime Crime- Uniliner in Blue Milk
Due eyelash adhesive
Dollywink eyeliner
Dollywink falsies in no.7

Anyway, the usual foundation or bb cream and everything else first.

For the Eyes:

1. Prime the eyes

2. Use a colored liquid eyeliner to line 1/3 of your eye. (Or a jumbo pencil for a softer look)

3. Use a contrasting eye shadow to fill 1/3 of your lower lash line

4. Use a highlighting color to line the inner half of the lower lash line

5. Line your eyes.

6. Curl lashes and mascara

7. Apply falsies!

Revisiting some of my past makeup looks from 2012.

This one was inspired by the vibrant colours of autumn leaves falling from trees. I think it pairs very nicely with a bright red yukata or kimono. <3
