Dolly Wink 03 Country Retro Eyeshadow Palette by Tsubasa Masukawa Review!!!

Hi everyone!!! It’s been a little while for an update but hopefully you’ll checkout my FB page for more regular daily updates on looks and videos!!! ❤

Today i’m going to do the long awaited review on Tsubasa Masukawa’s Country Retro palette. I got this palette from My FashionEye <3!!! This one isn’t as popular as the other Dolly Wink palettes out on the market- probably because of the colour and because it seems a little hard to wear? But I think its cute, fun and funky!

Image

WELL NOPE. I’m going to show you 3 other alternative ways to wear these colours! (There’s a lot more but you can use these examples as guidelines for your creativity ^^!) First thing you need to note is that the colours on this palette involves orange and blue as the theme which means that you’re going for an awesome colour crash. Reason 1: they’re on opposite sides of the colour wheel. Reason 2: the colours are both warm and cool. This means anyone can wear it you’ll just have to adjust the colour matching and placement to what suits you. Tsubasa shows off her combo of the colours on the package and this look atypically matches someone with a more neutral skin tone- but I don’t think that would stop anyone wearing any colour >: P So the below two images are the packaging and steps to get Tsubasa’s look.

ImageImage

And this is me… with the look 🙂

Ok so now i’m going to show you the other looks I came up with. (+tips on how to apply it properly) :D! OH and i do really aplogize with the inconsistency of the photo colours >< I was in a massive rush ><

Look 1: Day look

Especially suited for: Hooded eyes, monolids, Deep set eyes, Wide set eyes (Just don’t highlight the corner of your eyes)

Image

1. Apply primer all over the lid and up to the brow-bone.

2. Apply a wash of orange all over the mobile lid and into the crease. (If you have a hooded eye or thick lids you want to bring this colour up past your double eyelid into the crease so that you can actually see the colour when you open the eye. Defeats the purpose if you can’t right ^~^?)

3. From the brow-bone, bring down the highlighting colour to the orange and blend nicely. Also pop this in the inner corners of the eyes.

4. Line the top lashline with the dark blue and bring it up a little higher than where you would put your eyeliner. Line the outer 1/3 of your bottom lashline with the light blue.

5. Line your eyes.

6. Curl and mascara~

Look 2: Clashing Blue Crease

Especially suited for: Hooded eyes, Protruding eyes, Close set eyes, No visible eye socket

Image

1. Prime your eyes

2. Apply an all over wash of orange over the lid working from the outside to the inside.

3. Follow the imaginary diagonal line from your eyebrow to the side of your nose. Apply the dark blue from the outer 1/3 of the lashline and work it into your eye socket (working from the outside towards the inside) creating a soft off shaped “c”.

4. Pop a little bit of the light blue between the orange and dark blue to help the colours blend. Re-apply some orange to the centre for a pop of colour.

5. Bring some of the dark blue down the outer 1/2 of the bottom lashline. Then apply the highlighting colour to the brow bone.

6. Cat line, curl and mascara.

Look 3:  Retro Blue Smokey.

Especially suited for: Hooded eyes, Protruding eyes, close set eyes.

 Image

1. Prime and apply a wash of the light blue up past the crease area.

2. Apply the dark blue to the outer V and enhance the depth of the eye socket by bringing some of the darkness towards the centre.

3. Highlight the brow bone.

4. Apply the orange all the way across the bottom lashline.

5. Line the eyes.

6. Curl and mascara.

Lipstick: I’d suggest keeping it along the lines of coral, oranges and nudes. Unless ur really out there, go for a blue LOL!!! So…  Here’s what I ended up doing for a bit of fun….

Image

So as you can see, this palette is really fun!!! My only peeve about it is that it’s not pigmented enough. Hence, I always always ALWAYS recommend using a really good primer over the lid and you’ll have to apply a couple of good pats to really get the colour vibrant enough for your looks. Other than that, great colour combo, looks cute and extremely convenient to take around!!! So overall I’ll give it about a 7/10. ❤

Well, that’s all from me today!!! Hope you enjoyed the looks and let me know if you try it out!!! 😀

Take care and keep creative!!!

Liebster Blog Award Post/Tags~!!

Wowwww hey everyone! I’m actually really REALLY excited that I can finally blog again. Its been a little over a week but the net i had overseas was really weak so.. hence >< My deepest apologies. I’ve got so much to post for you all!

So I was waiting to blog about this since I’ve been tagged by the wonderful Sherly Stephanie @ http://blamethestore.wordpress.com. :D! I was a bit confused as to what this is but it’s an award that gets passed around by bloggers recommending other bloggers! I think it’s pretty neat how we can support each other in this!!! YAyYy! LOL >W<

There are some rules for the nominees to follow to this so I’m just going to c+p them : )

  • List 11 random facts about yourself
  • Answer the questions designated by the blogger(s) who nominated you
  • Place YOUR nominations for the Liebster Award. Nominate five or more other bloggers that have less than 200 followers. Make sure to notify them via comment or email, etc.
  • Make up a set of questions for those nominated bloggers to answer
  • Display the Liebster Award badge on your blog

Image

Also out of courtesy, apparently the nominees should also recommend back the kind blogger who suggested yourself! So here we go and don’t freak out (Cauz i’m a bit weird… ) ! >: D

11 Random Facts About Myself:

1- I’m a Christian~ ❤

2- I like poking my mum’s chin flab… LOL ;_; *plz don’t judge*

3- People think I’m Japanese. But I’m from Hong Kong~

4- I’m really..REALLY SHORT- 148cm…

5- I’m a bit of an otaku girl. I love reading my manga, watching anime, building gundams, comics, cosplay, rpgs… Though i have less time for those things now.

6- I’ve been single all my life!!! LOOOL

7- I love music, both singing and playing but I’m pretty terrible at both. I’ve played a bit of piano, guitar, clarinet and bass.

8- I’m a photography and situated media university graduate.

9- I want to live in Taiwan (well for now anyway… who knows the future may change?)

10- I dream to be a makeup artist

11- I want to love everyone unconditionally… though its impossible I don’t think its a reason to not keep trying. 😀

Question Response to Blame The Store:

  • Do you love Korean artists? If yes, name your favourite one. If no, name your favourite artist and where he/she/they come(s) from.

– Yep! SURE DO!!!! CN BLUEEEEE CAN’T WAITTT TO GO SEE THEM SOON!!! Brian Joo, Shinhwa, SJ, Block B, SNSD, SS501… List goes on..

  • Do you have a collection of something(s)? If yes, name your collection(s).

– Snoopy plushies from Maccaas… LOL >_<, does makeup count?

  • If you have to go to a high end mall in the weekend with your boyfriend, what will your outfit look like?

– Oh wow umm since i’m single… eating pants and a loose tee. LOL JOKES. I think i’ve some obsession over mixing something fancy/ street wear together there’s something about it that just looks so great, approachable but not overdone at the same time. So maybe an awesome kickass cap or beanie with a classy dress, cardi and sporty heels.

  • What do you think about beauty boxes? Name your favourite one.

-I’ve never signed up to a beauty box before but now that you ask I really should!!! I really like Ipsy and Glossy Box. Ipsy is pretty affordable and curated by lots of our youtube celebs that we all love. They recommend affordable stuff for the general public. I really like Glossy Box because of the variety and range of products they’re associated with. Apparently they give away some asian branded products as well which is a nice change. Its a bit pricier but the packaging is fantastic!!!

  • What’s your favourite snack?

-Hmm I don’t really snack but I like Mocchi and hot food xD

  • Which one do you prefer, online shopping or offline shopping? Why?

-Online shopping because i’m a bit of an introvert… lolol!!!! Nah, it’s just there’s not that many awesome+ affordable shops around sydney… And if you’re shopping in Hong Kong, the clerks try and recommend you almost everything that you feel a bit intimidated. That’s something I don’t like the feeling of -having someone glaring at me while i’m just looking around. I like shopping in peace! Though it’s not always awesome when you can’t try the fitting or see the material of the clothes you’re buying : <!

  • Tell me 3 of your favourite music.

– I like Christian songs, Pop and melodic Vkei.~ 😀

Everyday Ulzzang Natural Makeup!

Image

Ok omg i’m so sorry for the low res pics but i’m in a hurry and i’ve only got 10 minutes LOL! This is a step by step tutorial on an Ulzzang makeup I got inspired by reading one of ulzzang Pony’s tutorials. I’m not sure if you can get the book in english coz my friend lent it to me and it’s in chinese. But anyway…

Each frame is 1 step and let me know if i’m not clear enough! I’ll upload the description for the products i’ve used later.

Image

1. Put on your fav lenses!

2. Use a base. Here i’m using a green cream base to even out my redness and dry skin.

3. Conceal your blemishes! for the eyebags, i like to fill out the hollows rather than cake-ing over the entire eyebags. It looks more natural this way and less cakey and it actually looks like you have less eyebags in the end! And blend it out with a concealer brush.

4. Continue on with your bb cream. Unfortunately i forgot to take a pic. But i blended it out with a beauty sponge for a better spread and it looks- once again more natural and less cakey. Less is more!

Image

5. Set the face with your fav powder with a big fluffy brush- patting it over gently. Don’t rub it over your face coz its gonna damage your skin and make all that effort of putting on bb cream pointless.

6. Pat over your eyelids gently with a primer.

7. Now take the creamy white…

Image

8. …and pat it all over your eyelids. It’ll make the pink stand out a little bit more.

9. Then take the pastel pink and pat that over the entire lid too! Bring this down to line your lower lash line!

10. Taking the dark choco colour with a fluffy brush, and buff that into your outer v and crease.

Image

11. Take the yellow caramel and line the inner half of your lower lash line.

12. Line your eyes with your fav eye pencil! (I’m using an eye pencil coz it makes the look a lot softer. You may choose to use liquid or cream gels if you wish!)

13. So the look should look like this… at this stage…

15. Now curl n prep those eyelashes and add that mascara!

Image

16. Fill in your brows.

17. And contour! cheek bones and don’t forget your nose! If you have a flat face like me, a little tip is to contour into the little socket right under the brows to give it more definition!

Image

18. Take your fav blush~ and smother it over the apples of your cheeks ~_~

19. Conceal your lips.

20. Put on your fav lip gloss and you’re done! Muahhhhh~

Anyway i really gotta jet but yeah description for products will be posted when i’m home! Hope you had fun and all the best!

Polka dot nails and bear squishing!

Like any other day in the life of a shop-a-holic I had a quest to go out and not shop… and obviously, I failed. : <

Image

I came across these dazzling bottles at a local asian cosmetics store and couldn’t resist. If there was something you needed to know about me is that I have really shaky hands which means that when it comes down to nail art- i’d get an epic fail. BUTTTTT hallelujah! This cute set of three came with a dotting tool for $18! You could probably get it for cheaper online or overseas but from where I live- by the time you sit around waiting and paying for shipping costs for 1 item just isn’t worth it.

So here we go, my first attempt at using a dotting tool. not too bad for a beginner aye?

Image

I’d love to get some advice from you masters out there!
