The long awaited Hera CC Cream FULL review!

What on earth is CC cream?!? Well it stands for complete care cream or colour control cream. It’s supposedly the improved version of BB cream… beauty blemish or beauty balm cream. Let me explain with why there’s two names. From what i’ve been snooping around on the internet i’ve noticed two different types of cc cream. There’s not an entire chunk of difference between the both except its form. The one i’m going to show and review on is the complete care cream. This one is the one with colour coverage as well as other skin benefits- such as spf protection from uv and ub rays and some sort of skin tone correction. The other one, colour correction cream, appears as a white cream that after application transforms accordingly to your skin colour. It’s more translucent than the latter so the coverage is lighter but supposedly even out your skin tones more. There are a couple out there but Rae Morris raves on about the Loreal one…which she’s been using like no tomorrow on the latest Loreal paris fashion walk…

So followed by Chanel’s attempt at cc cream, I’ve heard reviews saying that it enhances oiliness and dryness being that its acclaimed to be an oil free product. – perhaps wasn’t so popular for a lot of people with skin problems- especially those of combination skin. I unfortunately happen to be one of them so didn’t even bother trying. I went straight to trying the Hera one because I was looking for a BB cream alternative because my BB cream just doesn’t last all day… and I don’t like having foundation on my skin for 12 hours straight. It just feels so heavy!!!! Urgh and its gross and you feel gross at the end of the day!!!

Image

The Hera CC cream is also known as the “photoshop cream” as it claims to give you a flawless, airbrushy finish to your face after application. (As does any other product… LOL) It also claims to stick tightly to your face, doesn’t leave an oily finish, moisturises, makes your skin appear bit more bouncy and youthful (elasticity), covers flaws naturally, evens out uneven skintone and spf35+ protection. Sounds too good to be true yeah!? Yeah…

Picking the right shade:

The Hera CC cream comes in two shades- the 01 (The one I bought) and the 02. The 01 is slightly pinker, and slightly fairer in tone while the 02 is a little bit more yellow. I have some slighter pink patches over my face so hence i’m using the 01. And if you’re a little darker than fair and have a warmer yellow tone to your face then perhaps the 02 is better for you~

Lasting and oiliness results:

Anyway I put it to the test over a period of time to see what would happen. I’ve used it in photoshoots, my own face, model’s faces, applied it with mixing it with other products! Overall I quite like it and I think i’ll be repurchasing it. I usually like applying the product on with a beauty sponge. And yes, I think the product covers my pores quite well without clogging them up. It does actually make me look like i’ve got flawless skin- minus the few bumps or scars that i’ve already got- so those i had to go and cover with concealer.

I was using the skin79 Super Blemish Balm from the VIP Gold Collection prior and my skin was breaking out. It didn’t use to do this but perhaps it’s because my face is quite the combination skin and quite reactive to seasonal and lifestyle changes it just needed something- better. When I first used the CC cream what I noticed that it was the tiniest thicker in consistency than the BB cream. It wasn’t as oily or shiny- which is what I liked because I have the oiliest T-zone EVER EVER! The CC cream definitely lasted longer than the BB cream although I still couldn’t escape applying a little bit of powder to make sure it would set for the day. It lasted about…. 6-8 hours or so in moderate 23-25 degree heat outdoors and it didn’t slip around my face much. Something like that. Whereas any of my bb creams would start showing signs of wearing off after about 3 hrs…sigh

Colour Correcting results:

Seeing that i’ve been using it over some time I think my face has actually cleared up a bit more and the tonality across my face has indeed gotten better. Whereas during the time I was using BB cream… my face still had its on n off weeks. It’s been more consistent now. My pinky patches on the sides of my face have evened out a little bit. So i guess that’s a good thing~ And mind you, I have a pretty terrible sleeping and eating patterns.

How it looks on skin and experimentation:

Another thing I liked about the CC cream is the fact that after application if leaves your skin looking hydrated and ‘glowier’ but not oilier :D!!! My T-zone still oils up after about 5 hours but definitely lasted much longer than the BB cream. So I’m not complaining.

Now for experimentation. I’ve been mixing this product with my Gorgeous foundation for photoshoots with models lately and the photographer I’m usually working with is totally impressed with the slight glow and radiance it’s have on the model’s face. Using this combo means i’m using less foundation so i’m getting a fresher and more natural look on the models. (Which is totally the in thing right now. As you would notice on runways models are really hitting it up with the fresh dewy face kinda look) When I used to use straight foundation, without photoshop the models looked evidently more tired and the application of makeup was absolutely more obvious.

I’ve also tried mixing it with my It’s Skin VC correcting serum. I think this is probably my favourite combo. Using the serum means i’m using even less CC cream= less makeup! YAY! Its hard for a girl to really go from using a whole stack of makeup to using a bare minimum. I’ve been trying to use less makeup nowadays for when I go out casually so I can keep my skin youthful and I guess this has been my most effective combo yet. The serum helps brighten up my skin a lot and keeps it moisturised without it being oily and the CC cream covers up any blemishes ever so slightly so I still look true to my own skin but not too tired and not too fake. 🙂 *claps*

Finally, I’ve also mixed this stuff with both the VC Serum and the Holika Holika aqua petit Jelly BB cream. I don’t know why I did this, but it’s a pretty good combo too. My face feels super hydrated, and I have a really dewy looking skin. So if that’s what you’re going for for that day, go for it. Wouldn’t recommend it for a hot summer’s day though because you might end up looking a bit too glossed up for it LOL!

Below are some before and after application swatches of the 01 shade on my ugly rough hands:

Final remarks:

So I really do like this product and as I said I’m thinking or repurchasing it. The result looks really natural. The Hera CC cream smelt pretty good and reminded me of the Christian Dior foundation range- not too strong but a very nice clean and fresh smell. It’s not full coverage but its enough to leave you happy about it because it brightens up your skin tone and doesn’t feel cakey or leave you looking fake. I like how it makes your face glow slightly without it being oily and I really don’t complain about its lifetime on the face. The only thing i’m not too fond of is its price. It’s just.. SO PRICEY!!! T_T!!! I Also wish it came in more shades but perhaps that would be for further down the track in time!!!
I bought this from Koreadepart for about $44 AUD

Well that’s it! Hope you enjoyed it!

Sashimi colours inspired makeup attempt!!!

Hi everyone! How’re you all!? I’ve been craving for sushi and sashimi for the past few days. If I couldn’t get any in my mouth then i’ll put some on my face >:[ ok okay that was lame LOL. Sat down and went ahead and started applying stuff on my face. Oranges, rusty reds, golds, some green…pinks…. mhmm. Fish >:D LOL

Ended up with this:

Image

And now suppose the usual~Image

1. Start off with foundation, concealers etc. Prime your eyes.

2. I take ‘Monkey’ a rust brown from my gorgeous palette and pat it over my lids as a base colour to make my orangey rust colours really pop with a warmer red undertone.

3. Then I mix some rusty oranges from my coastal scents palette and ben nye, spreading this over the inner 3/4 of my lids.

4. Taking some slightly shimmery rusty maroons I apply this to the outer V area. Reminds me of tuna. hahaha I eat salmon…and then eats tuna.. 😐 …

Image

5. Taking a goldy yellow, I blend it into the top crease and semi into the brow bone.

6. Then dip a bullet brush into a bright yummy pink and line the outer half of your lower lash line.

7. After that, that a salmon pink and blend it into the outer edges of the bright pink and slowly bring it into your tearducts, blending out any harsh lines.

8. (At this step you’re supposed to add some shimmery white to your inner corners but i did that last ><) Line your eyes with a green eyeshadow followed by a green liner~

Image

9. This next part is optional, but I extended the rusty reds and orange shadows to fade outwards from my lower lashline.

10. Line your lower waterline with a nude liner.

11. Apply a deep red to your cheeks and bring it up higher than you usually do for a more dramatic and vintage look~

12. Finish off with flasies, filling your brows and i topped the look with an orangey lipstick ❤

Image

Okayyy now for the stuff I used~ I’ve marked the colours I’ve used with a star :3

ImageCoastal scents warm palette. The two colours near the bottom were used in conjunction with the ben nye orange and the two rust colours at the top were used on the outer V.

ImageGorgeous Palette: The rusty red (monkey) was used as a base colour. The brown below it was used to fill my brows.

Ben Nye Lumiere Grande Colour Palette: The orange was mixed with the other coastal scents oranges and the gold yellow was used to blend out to my brow bones. Oops i forgot to star the bright pink here as well that was used for the lower lash line.

Image

Sigma in Grasp: This was used to blend out the bright pink.

Lancome in Ombre Absolute impact 3D palette in A80 Baby Pop: the white is used for the inner corners of my eyes and the green at the bottom to line my eyes~

Image

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream, palgantong makeup powder, Clio diamond rose HD rose, Duo lash glue, too faced shadow insurance, MAC in supernova, It’s Skin power 10 formula in vc effector, tony moly in pink holic, Stila Kajal eye liner in topaz, clio gelpresso in no.3 golden khaki, gorgeous concealer, lancome mascara in hypnose, Escada 3D rouge crystal in no.9. I also used some dolly wink top and bottom lashes~

Hope that brought a bit of fun to you all! Until next time! Take care! xx

The Beautiful Gift of Life

It’s almost 3am in the morning and I can’t really escape my computer because a video i’m making is rendering. Sigh… rendering… but since it’s Easter Sunday, I thought I would like to share with you a message and an experience I have gone through in my life. Whether you are a Christian or not- Don’t waste your life.

Be it that you are young or old, it doesn’t matter. There’s nothing more traumatic than being at your moment in death and screaming out “I’ve wasted it, i’ve wasted it!”. About 2 years ago I thought the world was mine to conquer. I was young, I was fearless and I had a car to drive. Not that I took my chances to speed or anything, mind you at that point in my life I was already a dedicated Christian, I wasn’t afraid because I was young and I could look forward to a bright future. On my way while I was driving back home from youth group, I was leisurely talking to my friends in the car. Didn’t realise I sped through a red light. In that split second on a 6 lane road my car was pummelled. 3 Cars involved in the accident. The door on my side- rendered total loss. But my car was still moving so I pulled to the side. I was alive.

Picking up my brain I tried to retrace what had just happened. Sped through a light. Got smashed. Broken glass everywhere. Broken door. Then I looked at my legs. I looked at my friends. I looked at the other 3 damaged cars… Everyone was alive. Everyone was- unscathed. I had minor scratches. I was alive. If the opposite car was any bigger than a regular family sedan I would be either permanently paralysed or dead. But no. My door was about 3cm away from my leg. The glass shattered neatly around my body instead of my eyes. Thank God I’m alive

Did you know that this life of ours could be taken away so easily? Did you know that although you can make the choices in your life, your finish line is not yours to mark? Did you know that there’s a man in history called Jesus that gave up His life so that you can have freedom from every guilt you have?! Your life and freedom was bought with a price. A price of love that cannot be replaced. A freedom that can only be received if the receiver accepts the gift. “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. For the non-christian, “this is what Jesus Christ offers: doubly belonging to God, and being able to do what you were made for.”- (John Piper) This is not so that you would avoid a wounded life. But to avoid a wasted life. The man called Jesus who died on the cross for all the guilt and shame we have had you in mind, knowing you before you were born and knowing what greatness and possibility you have and what you need. He wanted to give you a chance and to give you a shot at living in the fullness that you could. And did that, by conquering death. As crazy as it sounds. He rose again from death. Proving that He is God, proving that you can put anything to Him in hope.

This easter I want to share that your life is precious. Other people’s lives are precious. There’s something I hope for you to realise. In that moment at the brink of death I believe angels were guarding me. I believe and am thankful that I live, and that I can share with you this story. You and I have a purpose. From big to small things, you influence those around you. Never think that you have nothing to do with them. You are placed in such a position to do something. It doesn’t have to be anything heroic. Even just listening to your friend’s problem without saying anything would mean the world to them. So live your life. Don’t waste it. I’m not saying you can’t do silly things or that you can’t go nuts. But I urge you to find your purpose, to find what you can do, and do it so that you can love other people and treasure the beautiful gift of life.

Lots of love and Happy Easter!

Lots of love, Janey xx

Ice Queen- competition trial makeup!

Hi everyone! Wow it’s been a crazy day… woke up at the crack of dawn to do photographic work… and then went to this “thing”, came home more photographic work, went out with a friend, came back, more photographic work then worked over a new look!!! If you’ve got any miracle products that help with eyebags please suggest!!! I would sleep but because of work load unfortunately I only get a few measly hours of sleep a day. :”[

Anyway so here’s a new look i’ve spent a couple of days thinking about. It’s for a competition that’s giving away cosmetic contact lenses for people to review and other beauty products. This is only a trial version and I know I need some lower lashes to balance it out. Let me know what you think in the comments below!!! ❤ If you’ve got tips please give me a heads up also! I took the photos on my phone because I’m going to have a photoshoot for the look in a few days.

Raymond Meier- Constance Jablonski Inspired makeup with kpop liner!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn’t around to blogging yesterday! I’m really busy these days but nevertheless, a tutorial today! I thought it was a bit fun and interesting to do…heheheh~ so here it is!

Image

Well, I dolled up the look with a bit of kpop liner. It’s a surprisingly simple look~

Image

1. What you need is to make a paper cut out of a star! *snipsnipsnip

2. Then apply serum, primer, concealer and today I mixed my foundation by Gorgeous with my Hera CC cream for a flawless and glowy face.

3. Apply a turquoise green all over your eyelids followed by a lighter shimmery pastel green.

4. Apply the pastel green into the area between your nose bridge, inner half of the lower lashline and tear ducts! (Not just the tear ducts!)

5. Take a brown pencil liner, line your upper water line and the outer 1/3 of the bottom lashline. This will be the guide to your kpop liner! make sure you don’t turn this eyeliner into a winged liner! SImply follow the curvature of your eyelid and drag the line downwards not upwards so you can create a straight line across for your bottom liner.

6. Take a taupe or soft brown and blend over it.

Image

7. Now take a gel liner and line your eyes, following the shape you have just created! This will be the base for your liquid liner.

8. Clean the look with a liquid liner over the gel liner. With the bottom, start from the outer half and draw straight across to connect with the end of the wing from the top liner.

9. Apply mascara, do your brows. Contour and go nuts with the highlighting ❤

Image

Now the fun part!

1o. Take that cut out you made earlier! Place it onto your face and apply shadow over the shape to make the stars shine on your face!!!

11. Apply a baby pink lipgloss and wuhluh!

All the best!

Breakup Makeup or for when you’re not feeling all that great.

Sometimes its just not your day. It might not even be a breakup and it might not be anything all too serious but there are just those days where you feel tired of it all. On top of that you feel sluggish yet still want to look great. Just now I got a little bit- i don’t know sudden surge of feeling poopie and thought well- what could one do to still look fantastic without wanting to try because you just can’t…?

I’m sorry I didn’t get to photograph all the steps but here’s an everyday wearable look for when you’re on the go or just can’t be bothered to put a lot of effort into perfecting your makeup. So here’s the look. No need for skill : ] Scroll down to the bottom to see the final look!

Image

1. Wash your face and refresh yourself. Ice out those eyebags or puffy eyes with a cold towel.

2. Lovingly apply some face serum or moisturiser to ready your skin with a healthy glow.

3. Apply concealer and a bb cream or a really light foundation. I wanted a dewy look to look more fresh and glowy~

4. LIGHTLY apply a little bit of translucent powder to set the bb cream.

5. Use a shimmery champagne and apply this over your lids with your finger. Highlight your brow bone. And highlight the tearducts and lower lashline.

6. Take a Taupe or chocolate brown and buff it into your eye sockets.

7. Use a bullet brush and apply a black eyeshadow and line your eyes as you would with a gel liner.

8. Line your waterline with a pencil liner. Keep the look soft.

9. Curl & apply mascara. Fill in your brows.

10. Contour and blush.

11. Apply highlighter over your t-zone, c-zone and areas where your eyebags fall. (if you have puffy eyes then don’t do that but apply over your cheeks).

12. Put bb cream over your lip and apply a tint in the middle of the lips for that kissable baby doll lips.

And you’re done : )

Image

Well simple and short but I hope you guys enjoyed it.~

Take care. ❤
