Hi everyone! I’m a little behind in blogging this week because there’s been so much going on. I’ve got exciting news that I’ve got plans to be starting a youtube channel soon!!! There I’ll review some of the newest fashion cosmetic lenses and i’ll also be doing some makeup tutorials and my collaboration work with my friends!
So this week i started setting up my studio and did some cosplay shooting with friends as characters from the animes Psycho-Pass, Asuna from Sword Art Online and Blue Rose from Tiger and Bunny. It’s been a hectic couple of days trying to get things together but it all worked out smoothly. I’ve felt so blessed to know and getting to work with this awesome bunch. I had taken my leave from the cosplay community for a few years while I was back in uni but then it seems as though I’ve forgotten something that I’ve really loved. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to get around to editing the Blue Rose shoot yet but for now, Psycho-Pass and Asuna. Although I’ve posted these photos on my FB page already, I thought I might as well explain in detail what’s actually been happening. I would really appreciate it if you’re interested in getting your cosplay photos taken, edited or videoed or even if you have general questions about cosplay you can check out the advanced team of cosplayers and designers team and their pages as mentioned below!!!
So below is a quick phone snap from my friend/ filmographer SFVproductions.
Yayyy so I get to do a photographic post tonight~ I got to see so many great views. There’s a lot more but here are just some snaps~ I hope you all enjoy sightseeing just as much as I do! I could only bring along with me minimum gear but I think they served me well~ The main things i brought along were my camera body of course, my 14mm f2.8 and 24-70mm f2.8. If you’re just starting out on photography and thinking about doing so landscapes overseas your lifesavers are most definitely a circular polariser and a tripod : )
So let me know what you think! Also, let me know where you’d love to go for a trip and what’s a sight you’re dying to see!
Hey guys! Cheers for uploading a bit of what i’ve been up to recently! I got to work on hair and makeup with my awesome buddy Jez @ IMP BOX Photography and one of my besties- Chiizu 🙂
The look was suggested by Jez after reviewing some of Yoshitaka Amano’s artwork. One of my favs!!! His art style had heavily influenced my style of art back in the day when I was drawing~ There’s a film he drew called the Angel’s Egg. A beautiful and really enchanting piece of art.The photo below is what we used as a base image to work off the shoot from. (Not from Angel’s Egg)
Below is one of the many fantastic photos by Jez:
And following is one of my shots before the shoot.
Had a lot of fun doing the look. Its quite simple and oriental. Hope you enjoyed the little snippits!~
How was your Easter!? Mine was really epic! I thought that today I would share with you some interesting images from a shoot I did with my friends just before the Easter holidays!
Here’s a mashup between high fashion couture and street wear. Pretty cool don’t you think : D?
Model Laura Ballin wears a mash up of Alex Sims, Ella Drayson and Diyana Kossi with other branded street wear styled by Cameron Taylor and the aforementioned. Photography by Hayley Pease and Mua/hair by Jane Chiu (me) : ]!
Hope you liked these! So theres an idea for next time you wanna tone down your outfit and add a bit of spunk but keepin it classy!
Although it has been just a call-in once off thing, I went all excited and freaked out at the same time when I had an opportunity to do makeup for the rising model Marnie Harris and not to mention alongside with an amazingly talented team: Photographer Sam Hendel and Emma Read that was put together by Simone from Emg!!! A whole week later i’m still not sure how to go about writing this blog post since the photographs have been out because I still lack a lot of experience in doing on the go jobs. I promise you though, I will only keep trying harder and harder!
Regardless, below are some of the images. Please remember that Sam Hendel has full photographic rights to these images!
Well, that’s it for now! I am so grateful and thankful for this opportunity. Perhaps someday I too can be fully legit in doing makeup for models and such? Only way to find out is to work harder and sprint on towards the goal! Enjoy life, and take care!
